A couple pursuing a solid marriage committed to growth, one of Marriage Ministries core beliefs, will look for ways to improve communication with each other; they will learn about and apply God's purposes for their money; they will pursue God's best concerning sex and intimacy within marriage; and they will invest in life-long learning together.
Marriage Ministries endorses four key curriculum that address the typical difficult areas that marriages face. These include communication, finances, and sex and intimacy. We offer these as our "marriage pathway" and encourage all couples to keep journeying forward together.
Christian Marriage Essentials
We value the marriage relationship and believe a clear understanding of biblical principles will enhance any marriage and provide a solid foundation to this life-long commitment. Offered periodically throughout the year this class meets weekly and provides a great opportunity to get to know other couples while learning together.
Key topics discussed in class are:
- God's design and purpose for marriage
- Understanding the dynamics of functioning as one-flesh
- What it really means to walk in forgiveness
- The importance of unity
- Practical information regarding sex
- Biblical financial principles
- Developing a vision for your future together

Communication Concepts
This class will help you learn to communicate better about day-to-day issues and to resolve conflict, in order to build a more satisfying marriage relationship. Each class consists of five 2-hour sessions and includes presentation of new concepts, a demonstration of communication skills, and opportunity to practice what you have just learned. Real issues, chosen by the couple, are used in practice so the impact is immediate. In addition, you will receive coaching, feedback and encouragement as you develop your skills.
There is a $120.00 per couple fee for this class. The following is included in this fee:
- A Prepare & Enrich evaluation which assesses eleven major areas of a relationship
- 2 Talking and Listening Together workbooks
- 2 Skills Mats, one for talking and one for listening
- 2 sets of Pocket Cards, used to apply concepts and skills in everyday situations
If you are interested in gathering a small group of five to six couples to take this class together, contact Michael & Lisa Graber at 360.791.4546 or by email. This is a great way for friends to connect and grow together!
