We believe at Living Water that giving is an act of worship, and includes many
inherent blessings. Giving of our resources acknowledges God as the owner
of all things (1 Chronicles 29:11), including the resources He has entrusted
into our responsibility. As such we do not take casually the matter of giving.
In fact, in Matthew 6:21 Jesus teaches that “where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also”. So giving is indeed more than just writing a
check or using an online tool, rather it is a reflection of a greater understanding
of who Jesus is in our lives.

  Principle Description Address
Systematic Give on a regular basis, that is,
weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, etc.
1 Cor 16:1, 2
Proportional Give as you have been prospered; according to your ability 1 Cor 16:2; 2 Cor 8:2–3
Sacrificial, Generous Give generously, even sacrificially, but not to the point of personal affliction 2 Cor 8:2–3; Phil 4:17–18
Intentional Give deliberately in order to meet a genuine need, not out of guilt merely to soothe a pressing request 2 Cor 8:4; Phil 4:16
Motivation Our motivation for giving should be love for others, a desire for reciprocity, and an eye to the reward from God
        a. Love As Jesus died for the sins of others, believers should give of themselves out of love 2 Cor 8:9
        b. Equality Believers are to give so that all needs are met 1 Cor 9:14–15; 2 Cor 8:12–14; cf.
Gal 6:6
        c. Blessing Give in order to receive more from God so that you can continue to bless others generously 2 Cor 9:6
Cheerful God loves a cheerful giver 2 Cor 9:7
Voluntary Giving ought to be done out of one’s free volition 2 Cor 8:2–3, 8; 9:7; Phil 4:18

Malachi 3:10,11 (ESV) Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food
in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not
open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is
no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the
fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts.

Luke 12:34 (ESV) Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever
would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Living Water is all about reaching people for Jesus and Building Solid Lives.
It’s our passion to make a positive difference in the lives of people both
locally and globally. Check out some of the ways we are doing this.

Lakefair:
At Lakefair, it’s all about caring for our community. This year 350 volunteers
served in several areas from the parade to trash pickup and Kids Day along with
several other areas. We continue to be known as the “Green Team”
around the city.

Holiday Food Baskets:
Every year the church facilitates two incredible food basket give-a-ways
in November and December. In our last distribution we gave away over 26
tons of food to 1896 families. That is 18,960 meals. It was so incredible
to see how extra blessed these families were especially in light of
the difficult economy.

Family Support Center:
This is a ministry located on the Boulevard Campus where people in need
can come throughout the week to get food and other items for free.
In 2011 we were able to assist 15,797 people with approximately 39,493 meals.
So far in 2012 we are on a trajectory to surpass last years numbers.

Cambodia:
Living Water loves Cambodia and we presently work with Foursquare Children of
Promise to invest in this nation. At this time we are fully supporting four
orphan homes and churches that have 97+ Orphans. We provide for their food,
education, clothing, home maintenance, transportation, medical, dental, English
Instruction, blankets, mosquito nets, and a whole lot more.

Easter Egg Trek:
Capital Mall every year is filled with families from all over the community
for this event. Over 1500 adults and children were served and influenced by
150 volunteers. Families enjoyed face painting, Easter egg hunts, and various
other fun activities.

Pumpkin Patch Bash:
Every year Living Water hosts the Pumpkin Patch Bash. Last year over
5,000 people came to two different locations to participate in this safe Halloween
alternative. 450 volunteers from the church facilitated numerous games, activities,
and various other roles.

Vacation Bible School:
This year 501 children came to the church and were blessed by this
free week long event. This year 213 children were saved and 173 volunteers
came out to serve.

Military:
We believe in supporting our military families. We are doing this through
our Military Support Network. We consistently look for opportunities to meet
their needs during deployments, transitions, biblical help, and various
family dynamics.

Upward Basketball:
350+ kids participate from our community in a basketball league where
basketball skills can be refined along with character and sportsmanship.
Hundreds of families are impacted by the love of Jesus as they watch their
child have a ton of fun with other basketball stars.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

- IT KEEPS FIRST THINGS FIRST
The Bible says giving is to be a “first” and not a last or leftover matter
in our lives. Read Proverbs 3:9-10. It is easy to let our intentions be
compromised by the pressure of expenses and billing cycles.

- IT’S CONSISTENT
Have you ever forgotten your gift, left it at home, or pledged to double it
in the future? Have you had times where you have fallen behind because
you travel or other schedule interruptions? Online giving provides a way
to stay up to date with your budget.

- IT’S CONVENIENT
Through online giving, you expedite your gift, simplify our accounting,
and strengthen our base of regular support.
You've got options when you're deciding how to give at Living Water.
Cash (to us, that means currency and checks, as well as online giving by
credit cards and bank account payments) is the easiest method and provides
the most immediate benefit.

In addition, you can give to the church through these other methods:

Marketable Securities:
Transfer ownership of your stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares.

Other Non-Cash Gifts:
Donate items like cars, boats, jewelery, homes, and land.

Life Insurance:
Name Living Water as a beneficiary of your policy.

Planned Gifts:
Give via retirement assets, bequests, trusts, etc. as a part of your
overall personal financial strategy.

One Gift - Twice the Impact
Did you know some employers will match your contributions?
Charitable Gift Matching doubles your giving impact! Corporations
like Morgan Stanley-Smith Barney and Bank of America are already
participating, and your employer might be able to also if you ask.

If you have questions regarding these special methods, please contact us.
(360) 754.5830 or email us.
We understand that everyone has varying needs. Its our desire to offer
throughout the year different classes and workshops to assist you
where you are. Below are some options for you to consider:
